Kyra Minton Sedgwick is a native of New York, and is an American actress. She has a large following throughout America and across the world due to her performance as the leading actress on the TV The Closer.' Sedgwick had a passion for the arts, Broadway and performing since at the age of 12. She was introduced to Broadway by her mother, she was interested in the field. Sedgwick got her first role in the professional world at 16 in the TV series "Another World". Her initial TV appearances were not big, however Sedgwick was determined to become a well-known actress. The first film she appeared in was 'Born on the 4th of July.' She starred alongside Tom Cruise in this supporting role. Sedgwick was able to continue getting parts as she became successful with the film. In addition, she was cast in other films like : Singles, Heart and Souls and Phenomenon. Sedgwick met Kevin Bacon in a TV show known as Lemon Sky. She married him at the age of 22. Sedgwick has left her mark on American TV with her easy acting. The Closer ran for seven seasons, and she won several awards like the Golden Globe.
