Allison Brooks Janney is an American actor born on November 19 1959. Her performances on screen and stage have been praised over her long career. Janney was awarded numerous awards including The Academy Award and British Academy Film Award. Additionally, she received seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Also, she was in the running for 2 Tony Awards. Janney was originally from Boston and raised near Dayton the city of Dayton in Ohio. After graduating from Kenyon College, she received a full scholarship at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney's debut on TV came in 1999. She played C. J. Cregg on NBC's political drama The West Wing (from 1999 through 2006). She won the role four Primetime Emmy Awards for the role. For her role in The Showtime Drama Masters of Sex, Margaret Scully, Janney won the Primetime Emmy Award 2014 for Outstanding Guest Actress in the Drama Series. Janney was nominated for six Primetime Emmy Awards, and she took home two awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series.
